C&G 2392–10: Fundamental Inspection , Testing & Initial Verification:
This course has been created by the City & Guilds for Electricians who wish to ‘sign off’ their own work once completed, and is a perfect alternative to the 2391 for anyone not wishing to undergo the intensive training and 2½ Hr written examination required as part of the 2391 to become a Fully Registered Test Engineer.
The 2392 aims to ‘instruct’ electricians on the correct methods of testing & demonstrate the approved and safe processes involved with inspecting & testing a completed installation (as opposed to carrying out Periodic Testing on a regular basis – which is the main objective of the 2391).
The 2392 is a Four Day Course which describes fully to Candidates the requirements within BS7671:2008 & The IEE Guidance Notes 3 regarding Fundamental Inspection, Testing & Initial Verification.
The Course initially has a Practical Assessment element, & then leads to a 1Hour 40 minute Multiple Choice examination, which is closed book.
The course is 4 days long in order to provide 2 days of Practical demonstration and assessment (physically Inspecting & Testing simulation Rigs) – and 2 days of theory leading to the examination.
Subjects covered in detail, both practically & in written form include:
•Earthing - The Four Earths and the Earth Fault Loop Path
•The Inspection process - including General Characteristics
•GS38 & Test Instruments
•The Test Sequence
•Testing procedures
•Certification & Documentation
•Circumstantial Information pertaining to Inspection & Testing
•The Exam process - including Revision Techniques
•The Mathematics of Inspection & Testing
•Certification Procedure (Initial Verification Inspection, Testing & Report Completion)
We attempt to run courses now each month (due to demand) although candidates are encouraged to book early, as we cut off places for each course at 9 delegates.
Candidates will complete the Practical element during the training course & sit the exam three days after the course – to allow for revision time.
