Overview & Contracting
As well as delivering Training to the highest volume of Electrical Contractors across the North West, DJT continue to maintain an experienced team of Electrical Installers & Test Engineers who carry out all types of Electrical Installation, Design & Inspection & Testing work to Commercial, Industrial and Domestic clients on a regular basis.
We can offer any potential client a list of ‘blue-chip’ references with whom we have worked in the past five years (many of which are National household names) – and can give a clear account of our service either as Inspectors & Testers, or Installers of Electrical Installations.
David is once again at the forefront of this leg of the business, normally acting as ‘point of contact’ with each client – however once the contact is in place each job is allocated a Supervisor, who will know the job thoroughly, & will be constantly on hand for the client to discuss issues or gain advice from.

Largest Client List
While we continue to service contracts in the Medical field, for Licensing purposes (Hotels, Clubs & Public Houses), within Local Council buildings & premises, & for the manufacturing Industry, somewhat surprisingly our largest defined client list comes from one sector, that of the Electrical Contracting division.
By that we mean that many of the companies employing our dedicated Team of Test Engineers are other local Electrical Contractors, who realise they cannot offer the speed and technical resourcefulness of our services at a competitive price – therefore they allow us to price & carry out the work, and place their own fee on top. Our Engineers often carry out ‘induction-training’ for these companies, then represent them directly (wearing their t-shits, High-Vis’ vests, etc) while on site. We present them with the certification in both hard-copy & on CD-Rom upon completion of the work – often with their company logo inserted prior to printing.

Design & Consultancy
On many occasions a client for DJT can be as simple as a contractor who has been on one of our training courses, & has been given the opportunity to price a larger job than they would normally undertake, dropping into our office to discuss the drawings, Maximum Demand, pricing, etc. We would normally agree a one-off affordable fee for this service, and it is a straightforward service that we are taken up on very often – as it leaves the contractor with peace of mind & sure the job will be done right, and at the right cost.

Specifications can change, right up to the 11th Hour, but we will always ensure the consumer is happy with the end result. |
On a larger scale we may be employed to Design an Electrical Specification for a new build commercial premises, or give consultancy advice on the lighting design to an extensive re-model.

The Commissioning Process:
Adjacent to & on the flat-roof area of the India Buildings in Liverpool, completing the final procedures & testing to the install of the new Extract Control Units to the 7 & 8th Floors (overlooking the Three Graces).

Canada Dock:
When asked to contribute to the Design Specification for Lighting & Power to The Canada Dock in readiness for a ship-breaking contract in Liverpool, the new cables brought in to replace the deteriorated originals to the Wind-farm in Liverpool Bay had just arrived on site.
These are a single-core, copper, 720mm csa cable, and are laid from the aft-end of a supply-vessel between the Turbines and the shore beneath the seabed & River Mersey. |
Trace Heat Testing at E-ON Power Station, Connahsquay.

When pipe-work is locate outdoors and subjected to the elements there is always a possibility of the contents freezing during the Winter months.
This is overcome using Trace Heating to ensure that an ambient temperature is maintained across the steelwork throughout the coldest periods. However due to the harsh circumstances these heating elements will often fail when they are most necessary. |
Trace Heat Element Testing is carried out at E-on Power Station in the late Summer and early Autumn months in readiness for the seasonal temperature drops, to ensure the pipe-work will be maintained during any freezing temperatures.

Those locations requiring testing are often Highly Explosive Petro-Chemical areas, and special Training and induction procedures are required for our Engineers prior to carrying out the work. |

Working Up High
Sometimes DJT are required to work on the roof-spaces of some of the highest buildings in Liverpool, Manchester & Leeds.
