Within both BS7671:2008 & Part P of the Building Regulations there is mention of Energy Efficiency, Photovoltaic Systems and sustaining the environment. There is only one City & Guilds Course that Electrical Personnel can currently undertake that touches on this area (the C&G2372 Photovoltaic Installation Course) – which we have found not to cover many of the areas enquired about in this field.

This Two Day Course aims to describe fully to Candidates how they can offer energy sustainable advice to their clients, and follow through their advice with the knowledge required to purchase, install & maintain various systems that are seen to be ‘cleaner’ and reduce the ever discussed ‘carbon footprint’ we all produce daily. The course is a hybrid of training undertaken by David Tinsley and the various lecturers who will be present over the two days, with practical Solar and Photovoltaic demonstrations, as well as a vast amount of theoretical knowledge.

Candidates should have a copy of BS7671:2008 - although hand-outs, booklets and revision material are given during the training.
The course concludes with an in-house multiple-choice examination, and a Mainsail Certificate is awarded for completing the training – although we are sure from our research that in this case the facts and data obtained on this unique course will outweigh any paper based diploma awarded.
